Hi all, I have joined up with a few banner exchanges & I was wondering how long would you expect it to take to start receiving traffic from them (if at all).

I have have my site up for about 5 days & have 3 profiles is this very low? or about normal to start with?

I want to make a go of this website & hopefully make it my main income (wishfull thinking!)

Don't forget when you have added the other webmasters banner to your banner exchange and likewise with yours then you need to keep checking that your banner link is still on the other website also text links can be added to your links page of your website again keep checking that all of your links are still there.


Remember to add your website to the search engines G,Y,MSN etc....also make sure you have the correct keywords/description etc to suit your website before submitting your website to the search engines....hope this helps also alt tags on your images etc

Unfortunatly banner exchanges are not the effective anymore, it does depend a lot on placement of course, I would say if ur getting low traffic thats pretty much the norm, you need to try to get ur banned in places where its going to be seen by lots of relevant passers by, which isnt easy !

One thing you could all do is create some other type websites not all dating websites but other types that may be interlinked to this type of site and add your banner to that and keep linking form all your variopus websites.

If you link to lots of websites and get backlinks this does help.

HOWEVER and this is a big however Google is smarter than a lot of you think, try not to register the other websites in your own/company name use a relatives name if possible as google will check things like this when deciding if it wants to take into consideration your link backs also the length of time you have registered your domain name for helps. This is why you always see me in here telling people to go and buy thier own domain name and stop using DIY sub domains.
