Basic Membership, Carrot method Options

not sure if this has been asked before, but I'll ask anyway because I'm bound to bug you like mad now I've started a site lol ok so people who join and don't pay, they really can do nothing on the site. Would it not be possible that say they could send a limited number of msgs a day, or interact with other members on a very limited basis, my logic in this if they can do it and enjoy it they will want to able to do more so this might raise conversions? I have been a member on paid sites for a long time and I would not pay without knowing I'd be getting something from it, so by being able to send some msgs and flirting they will have a feel for the place! Also I've opened an interracial site for me as a female if I joined because I liked black men I wouldn't want to pay for full membership because my unpaid member search is only showing white guys so to me there wouldn't be a reason for me to join as it looks like there are only white guys on the site, can I address that or would it be something you's would need to look at? The way the system works at the moment is that visitors can join for free and take a look around the system.
Hopefully they will see some members on there that they would like to get in touch with. THat is the hook to get them to upgrade their account so that they can contact them. THey may also have messages waiting from other members which also attracts basic members to upgrade.

If we offered a basic messaging service for free we would have a lot of members using this free feature and leaving afterwards and we aren't convinced that this would improve conversions.

Regarding the search results, are you getting these on the logged out search or the logged in basic member search?

The search results are based on the criteria that you enter in your profile. If you can contact us directly at Support Admin we will look at the niche on your site and see if there are any problems with it for you.
