This must be one of the most under-used forums I have ever come across. Which is a pity as I'm sure there are affiliates out there making good progress out there with this and others, like me, who are newbies and are looking for ways to profitably place our time.

Maybe its a competition thing? To kick start it, why not offer an incentive for people to help each other? Like sharing organically found (orphaned) new affiliates to existing ones as partners according to the help they provide on the forum?

There seems to be little activity. So lets build this into a proper resource, hey?

Hi Barry

Times are tough and at the present time that calls for tough measures, which means not too many people are happy to give away their secrets which may of taken them years to develop. While you may think it is sad you tell me one business that is happy to give away their business secrets for FREE to anybody. That no longer happens.

What you have said below has been said by many new webmasters before you and will most likely be said by new webmasters in many more years to come, while the sentiment behind it is good the truth is it won't happen our lives are busy enough, life is tough enough, business is slow enough without giving away to others for FREE how we all run our online business's.

If you read my posts in these forums you will see that I always offer to help other webmasters but that help comes with a small warning and the warning is if you have no money to spend to help your website then please don't waste both our times. If you have no time to spend to help your website then don't waste your own time. There is no quick buck to be made anymore using dating websites it has to be treated as a business and given some intensive hours.

One note though from your post on another thread, you mentioned linking can I say to you not to link to too many affiliate websites as they will always do well. All those links going to the affiliate site and them not linking back to you in my mind that is one way traffic and the affiliate site will always do better than yours because of so many affiliates linking to their sites. Think about that statement and if you are as smart as I think you are you will work it out and what to do about it. I am not going to tell you on this public forum what I do about it though.

Yours

Thanks Bojangles,

I think I have deciphered your message and its something I have already started working on.

I agree with you that, in normal business models, there is no incentive whatsoever for people to share their successful methods for free. Quite the opposite.

The reason why people would be smart to here, however, is the 2nd. tier element to this business. I quite like the idea of having a dozen or more 2nd. tier affiliates and earning 10% of all upgrades for very little time input which would add to my own hard work & efforts. In fact there could be a greater proprtion of income from this source. But 10% of 0 is 0. So there's my incentive to share every secret I may glean along the way!

This would also be used as an incentive to help as mentioned in my previous post. New affiliates who stumble across Diydating through company marketing and not through an existing affiliate could be put under the wing of those who offer the most help generally.

When the tide comes in all ships rise. I am quite prepared to help all, whether I earn from the results or not, completely for free as I believe that, for the success of organisations such as Diydating, co-operation is far healthier than competition. And, if the management of Diydating are smart, they will realise this too. Maybe I'm just an old hippy. lol

One slight problem with your thinking about these forums you cannot join these forums unless you are already a DIY webmaster. With that in mind you can now understand why the two tier system on the forums won't work. Because if you have to be a DIY webmaster to join these forums why would I as a DIY webmaster want to join another DIY webmasters affiliate scheme to get 10% whereas as a DIY webmaster I already get more than that?

This forum is not for Joe Public of course Joe Public can read it that's about all. Have you noticed we can't add our website address's to our posts on these forums. So Joe Public cannot click on any DIY dating webmasters site and join it as either a member or become a webmaster. The only people therefore we are talking to on these forums is other DIY webmasters.

No. Thats not what I mean at all.

There would be little gained by Joe Public browsing these forums. When people come here, they are already either coming to be helped or to help. Why else would anyone bother?

I think you are missing my point.

Anyone else have a view on this thread?

Hi Barry

I said what I did to you because of this statement

I said it before and I will say it again nobody can see your URL in these forums. So if they are smart to come here (using your words) to join the two teir element of the system how are they going to do that if we can't see the URL. Better still why would a DIY webmaster join your system even if he could see the url to only get 10%?

I agree with you getting other people to signup under you is a great idea you get 10% of all their earnings but they cannot do it in this forum as they cannot see your URL. But would you not prefer to earn at least half of the join up fee than 10% most webmasters will always try to earn as much as they can so half of £49.99 or 10% of it what would you rather have?
