Stats

are own own visits to our sites included in the stats? Some of my reported visits are coming from places that no one except me would be able to access for example 123-reg, so unless someone in that office is looking i think it must be me? If this is so is there a way to stop this as i want my stats to only record proper visits from other users.

Social Bookmarks

Social networking sites such as facebook can be a good source of traffic and a good way to spread the word about your site. Also Google in particular seems to put a lot of weight into links from social network sites. So my suggestion I that social network buttons should be placed onto DIY templates and a code developed by DIY Dating for existing sites to add to their sites.

A Free Way Of Getting Loads Of One Way Backlinks To Your Site

I have just come across and started using a really neat tool to develop many, many one-way backlinks from targeted blogs free of charge.

The principle is this: The site takes blogs into it's directory. Proper blogs, not B.S. ones it has churned out itself, as they offer the incentive for these bloggers to get free relevant and moderated content which is an attractive proposition.

The person who wants to develop the backlinks can submit an article to up to 30 of these blogs with 1 click and include 1 link for 350 word article and 2 links in a 450+ word article free of charge. I just published my first one on their system and will get 60 backlinks to a site of mine (more if you add in the 'tag page')

So what is different to simple article publishing/submitting? Many things as far as I can see. Your links are in the body of the article text so they are 'natural looking' , the links are guaranteed not to be removed (part of the bloggers TOS) . There is a tool which enables you to 'spin' your title and article text so it randomly creates slightly different content each time its published to avoid duplication. There are many more advantages as well, you will have to check out the site for all the details .

There is a 'pro' membership' which costs, but the free version is very usable and I, personally, will only upgrade when I see the results but it looks quite impressive so far.

Here is the link 'Free Traffic Exchange'

Have fun with it!

Free Resources

The best way I am told, to make money is to spend money. Scrooge and myself have different ideas. So whilst I wait for the ghost of Christmas past checkout the free online resources that I have come across that may be useful for your websites.

Most of your traffic will probably come from the main search engines. Ideally you want to ranking for keywords that have a reasonably high number of daily searches. Seobook have a tool which enables you to see the daily searches for a keyword in all the three major search engines. The tool is very quick and easy to use and you may spot a niche to target

It has been mentioned on a number on occasions in this forum of the benefits of having your own domain name rather than having a DIY subdomain. If your desired domain has already been registered this Domain Suggestion Tool I think is easily the best domain suggest tool I have come across. It will come up with some usable alternative suggestions.

Having a unique site has again been identified in this forum as key to creating your own brand and thus improving your chances of success. A free way to achieve this is to learn HTML and CSS yourself and alter a DIY template site. At w3schools.com you will find free try-it-yourself online tutorials that will teach your everything you need to know about HTML XTML and CSS. Spend A couple of hours going through the tutorials and you wil have all the info you need to make your site unique

In keeping with creating uniqueness, as you probably know your are able to upload your own images for use on your site. The is a limit on the size of those images currently set at 50k. In order to get my images to come at or below 50k I use an online resize tool <a href="http://www.smalljpg.com/index.php">" target="_blank">Smalljpg.com This free tool allows to to re size and change quality values of photos up to 9m the tool is easy to use and is completely free.

You can find 5 million free images at commons.wikimedia.org If you can't find what you are looking for and you absolutely must pay then try Absolutvision you can get 10 picks for $4.99, the cheapest I could find.

To earn additional revenue from your site you might want to try AdultAdworld Webmasters can get paid for every page Impression. They have CPM ads that pay you for every impression your site generates which pay upto $3-5 per thousands impression. English speaking traffic will pay the most. I have gone for the pop unders as they are less intrusive. Although predominantly an adult network when you have completed the sign up process you will find you are able to you add Non adult sites also.

I tool that can be handy if you don't have the best word processing software is Spellchecker.net Just cut and paste your website content into this tool for spelling, grammar, and thesaurus checking. Nothing will put of potential members than por spelig

A lot is talked about search engine optimisation and the importance of optimising your site for your chosen keywords to achieve higher rankings in search engines. If you want to try your hand at optimising your site you can download demo software from Ibusinesspromoter.com and Link Assistant both demos allow to check if you site is optimized for your chosen keywords. The downside is that that much of the advice to improve you rating is not shown in the demo. However I have found that if you copy and paste a general sentence from your report and do an advance search in google you will find reports that contain all the advice intact. Obviously the reports you find on the net are geared to that particular companies keywords. You will however, get a clearer idea of the route your site should be taking. (I hope that makes sense)

I hope these resources prove useful. I will continue to add any additional resources as and when I find them.

I've stumbled across a few places that can be helpful.

At http://perpetualprospering.com/earn/ you can submit your site to 125 search engines for free.
If you'll join Ebay, if you haven't already, then do a simple search for "web sites", peruse the findings and you'll find a person there is selling the option of 700,000,000 links for a little under $5.00 U.S..
I've done both with the site I just opened up here but can't vouch for any returns for any of it as of yet.
I've also Googled and found where some vendors will sell you hits to your site by using expired domain names as re-directions or utilizing pop unders to direct others to your site.
I don't recommend pop unders as most folks use a popup blocker and it's underhanded anyway.
The link redirection might give you one out of a thousand sign ups as the re-directions aren't targeted so that would have to be a judgment call.
